Thrift Store Finds . . .

My last stop at the local thrift store left me with this vintage blue Royal Traveller train case. For a grand total of $1.62, I couldn't help but see it as a great upcycling project.

Before:

After a good cleaning I brought this inside and decided on painting this with a floral pattern. I lightly sketched out the placement with a pencil and got to painting with acrylic paints.

After:

Train cases can be used for a number of things such as jewelry boxes, make-up boxes, unique storage, or just decoration. This will probably be what I use to carry my jewelry to craft shows in. It was cute unpainted but now it has a bit of a unique remodel to it.
If you are looking to remake a train case, or any luggage for that matter, but aren't much of a painter you can also try stencils or decoupage. Or if you don't want a DIY project to take on, artists on Etsy.com sell painted train cases.
Finding cheap vintage finds at thrift shops to upcycle is always fun. And if you mess up, it won't break the bank.

And Here it Begins. . .

Here you will soon find things such as my craft projects, craft ideas, things that inspire me and things that I love. I currently have an etsy shop where I share my handmade leather accessories with the world: In A Gadda Da Vida. But I also make many other things for both myself and friends. Check back soon!
